Management accounts

Monthly management accounts that tie to the cent before you see them

Management accounts are the monthly figures you run the business on: profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow, with the story behind them. Most small businesses get them late, if at all, and nobody checks they tie.

Big4CFO produces them every month from your own books, checks them first, and leads with what matters.

Checked before they are sent

Before a report is produced, every transaction in your books must account for the balances your accounting system reports for your bank, card, receivable and payable accounts — bank and card to the cent. If they do not tie, the report is held, not sent, and you are told exactly what needs fixing. A report you receive has passed that check.

What each month contains

  • A one-line verdict and the few things worth your attention, ranked by the money at stake
  • Leaks: duplicate payments, rising supplier charges, fees and interest, overdue invoices
  • Profit levers worked out on your own figures
  • A 13-week cash flow forecast with a slower case beside it, and twelve months ahead on three paths
  • Key figures: margins, debtor and creditor days, cash cover, runway, current ratio — each with its definition
  • Profit and loss against last month and the same month last year, balance sheet and cash flow statement
  • Every quarter, a board pack ready for your board, your investors or your bank
  • Plain-English commentary, with every figure in it checked against the calculations
  • An interactive online report and an Excel workbook with what-if levers

Every figure says what evidence it has

Each line is marked verified to source, as stated by your accounting system, or estimated. We never present an estimate as a verified figure. The statements are labelled unaudited management accounts, because that is what they are: reconciled to the cent, every month, with a reproducible calculation trail — not an audit.

Which accounting systems work

Monthly plans connect read-only to QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct, Sage Business Cloud, NetSuite, FreshBooks, Zoho Books, Wave and others. Desktop systems such as QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50 and MYOB AccountRight work by upload: each month you upload your trial balance and bank statements.

Monthly plans start at $349 a month (Foundational), with Growth at $599, Leverage at $899 and Capital Stack at $1,999.

Questions

Does this replace my accountant?
No. Big4CFO is software that produces your monthly figures and points to what is worth checking. Your accountant still handles tax, statutory accounts and advice.
Can you change anything in my books?
No. Access is read-only. You sign in to your accounting system yourself; we never see your password and never write anything back.
When does the report arrive?
From the fifth of each month, for the month just closed, once your books tie. If something does not tie you hear that instead, with what to fix.
